Candidate Bio - Michael Connell
What key qualities do you believe you bring to the position of a Catholic School Board Trustee?
I am the incumbent candidate for Manning/Fort Vermillion, having already served a full 4 year term. I am a former teacher of the division, having taught Junior High for 6 years at Rosary. My 2 children are students at Rosary and my wife is a Kindergarten teacher there as well.
What is your vision for Holy Family Catholic Regional Division and Catholic Education in general?
My vision for Holy Family Catholic Regional Division is to continue to provide high quality faith based education and to provide as much opportunity for our current and future students as possible. I believe we must face the challenges of rural education with determination, perseverance, and resourcefulness.
Is there anything else you'd like the community to know about you?
I have lived in Manning for the past 19 years and am deeply rooted in the community. I am an active member of the community taking on such roles as Parish Council Secretary, Lector at St. James Parish, Captain at Manning Regional Fire Department, and I sit on several boards for local youth sports.
