Last night our Board of Trustees had the important opportunity to meet with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides to advocate for our top capital priority — a new school for St. Andrew’s in High Prairie.
The Alberta Catholic School Trustees' Association MLA Reception took place in Edmonton, with over 50 MLAs in attendance.
We emphasized the critical need for this project to ensure students have access to a safe, modern, and fully-equipped learning environment. St. Andrew’s is a vibrant school community, and we’re committed to supporting its growth and long-term success.
“Meeting with Premier Smith and Minister Nicolaides was an important step in advocating for the future of our students at St. Andrew’s. We were proud to speak on behalf of a school community that exemplifies resilience. Our students deserve a learning environment that matches their spirit — one that is safe, modern, and built for the future. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our vision, and we look forward to continued collaboration to make a new St. Andrew’s School a reality.”
— Kelly Whalen, Board Chair
Thank you to Premier Smith and Minister Nicolaides for taking the time to hear our concerns and discuss the future of education in our region. We remain hopeful and determined as we continue to work together to make this much-needed school a reality.
