The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is pleased to announce that Angela Mary Griffin will be Principal at St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie starting in the 2023-24 school year.
“Angela brings such a wealth of experience to our division,” says Superintendent Betty Turpin. “Her experience in northern Canada, and her devotion to the Catholic faith makes her a great fit for St. Andrew’s and our division.”
Angela was born in Scotland and grew up in London, Ontario. She attended Catholic elementary and secondary schools, and graduated from the University of Western Ontario. She returned to Scotland to attend teacher’s college. She earned a Master’s degree in Vienna, Austria in 2015. Angela taught with Catholic school boards in Southwestern Ontario for over 23 years, predominantly as a secondary school English literature teacher. She taught secondary school students in two different northern Canadian fly-in Indigenous communities. Angela worked as a Program Support Teacher at École Saint Patrick High School in Yellowknife before becoming the principal of an Indigenous school in Fort Providence, NT.
“I feel blessed to join such a great division,” says Griffin. “My focus is encouraging a legacy of servant leadership steeped in Catholic tradition, faith, love, hope, compassion, acceptance, inclusion and respect.”
HFCRD would also like to congratulate retiring Principal Marc Lamoureux on a great career and thank him for his many years of service to our division!
