HFCRD is gathering more information from an Engineer to improve and complete the data for the value scoping.The division is ensuring full and accurate completion of the value scoping package, before taking the next steps in the process.

Air Quality
HFCRD is looking into installing air quality monitors on top of all the schools.This would assist in gathering the necessary data for making the decision on indoor or outdoor recess during smokey days due to wildfires.
Canadian Catholic School Trustee Association (CCSTA) Convention Sponsorship
The Calgary Catholic School Board requested sponsorship for hosting the CCSTA Convention in Calgary May 30th-June 1st 2024. HFCRD is donating $500 (Silver Sponsorship).
HFCRD Free North Peace Navigators Game
HFCRD sent students from Holy Family, Good Shepherd, and Glenmary to a free North Peace Navigators game on Friday, February 9th. 46 HFCRD students attended.
Senior Administration Attending Recruitment Fairs
Senior Administration has been attending several recruitment fairs, including in Grande Prairie & Edmonton. More are planned, as recruitment of new teachers remains a priority.
Kindergarten Open Houses
HFCRD Schools will begin hosting Kindergarten Open Houses in April beginning after Easter Break.They’ll be promoted online, on radio, and through printed mediums.
Cell Phone Usage in School
In the Principals Meeting this past month, Superintendent Turpin indicated that Cell Phones in schools are on the agenda for the upcoming student engagement meeting. The Division is in ongoing discussions and welcomes any input. There may be an Administrative Procedure upcoming. Recently, a wellness worker provided results from a Grade Nine class survey. Students indicated the amount of screen time used was surprising.
Student Engagement Meeting
The next Student Engagement Meeting is taking place on Monday, April 15th.The Board of Trustees, Superintendent, and Student Representatives gather to discuss topics brought forward by the students.Topics brought up so far this year include Cell Phone Usage in School, Vaping, and Teaching Practices.
