HFCRD Board Meeting Highlights – September 21, 2023

The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division held its monthly Regular Board Meeting on September 21, 2023. Below are the highlights of the meeting.

• The Board viewed and discussed the HFCRD’s School Viability/Closure Policy
• The Board discussed potential attendance at the Alberta Catholic School Trustees Association’s (ACSTA) Fall General meeting which is scheduled for November 17-19, 2023 in Edmonton.
• The Board was informed that ATA local negotiations will start on November 27. Trustees on the negotiation committee will meet on November 14 for a pre-meeting. 
• The Board learned that so far, vaping rates have decreased at Glenmary and St. Andrew’s Schools.
• The Board reviewed and discussed its area of emphasis. 
• The Board learned it received approval from the Ministry of Education to access its operating reserves. 
• The Board learned about a Catholic Trusteeship Certificate Program, offered through Newman Theological College. 
• The Board received a report on the ASBA Zone 1 meeting that took place at the HFCRD Central Office on September 20.
