2025-2026 HFCRD Budget
The HFCRD budget for the 2025-2026 school year was approved.
It’ll be posted in the Public Documents portion of our website sometime after May 31st.
Michael Proctor Scholarship
HFCRD has received the $100,000 endowment gift from the estate of former Peace River Mayor Michael Proctor, who passed away in August of 2023.
The full yearly interest accrued from the endowment will be used towards a scholarship for graduating Glenmary Students.
A committee will be formed to decide on the details and requirements of qualifying for the scholarship.
Peace River School Division also received the endowment, and will be approached to work together on aligning the scholarships.
Joint Board Meeting with Peace River School Division
Trustees discussed the Joint Board Meeting with the Peace River School Division, hosted by HFCRD on May 21st.
Agenda items include general partnerships, advocating for rural Northern Alberta schools, the need for road repairs near Rosary School in Manning, school bus funding & safety, The plan for our Fairview schools, Parent conduct surrounding school athletics, and the Michael Proctor endowment.
Toonies for Tuition
HFCRD Schools raised money for Toonies for Tuition - supporting Catholic families who live in provinces where Catholic education has limited or no public funding.
$3863.75 was collected.
Congratulations to Ecole Providence in McLennan & Holy Family School in Grimshaw for raising the most per capita.
They will receive a school-wide ice cream treat for their efforts.
