Temporary Transition to At HomeOnline Learning for HFCRD Schools 1024x576

The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is pleased to provide more information about the upcoming temporary transition to at-home/online learning, as announced by the Government of Alberta on Tuesday May 4th. HFCRD schools will continue to comply with all government and COVID-19 guidelines. Below is a list of information for HFCRD school communities:

First Day of Online /At-Home Learning: Friday May 7, 2021
First Day Back to School In Person: Tuesday May 25, 2021

At-Home Learners: Kindergarten to Grade 12
In Person Learners: Pre-Kindergarten, PUF students, and students with disabilities and special needs

Kindergarten to Grade 6: Focus on Literacy and Numeracy, with Health and ReligionGrade 7 to 12: All courses continue virtually

Delivery Methods

Delivery method of online/at-home learning is at the discretion of each individual teacher. Teachers will communicate directly with families on Friday May 7th about how they will deliver online/at-home education. Formalized delivery will begin on Monday May 10th.

Assessment

During at home learning, teachers will continue to assess students as appropriate.
In person exams for groups of students are not allowed.

Schools Remain Open

Schools will remain open for families who need them. Students can come to school for one on one activities that can not be done virtually. These one on one in-person activities must be pre-arranged with the teacher. No group activities are allowed.

 

Support staff

There will be no reduction in funding and no support staff layoffs at this time. Under the direction of school administration, support staff will be deployed to support students with special needs who are attending in person and students who are at home learning.

Technology

Devices will be available for families to borrow during this period of at-home learning. All families must sign the loan agreement prior to taking the device home.

Students who do not have internet access at home will be provided paper copies so they can complete their work.
